As a principal and co-founder of ECP, John contributes to all aspects of our business leveraging his deep understanding of property markets, development, and building operations from over 35 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. In addition to supervising our leasing, property operations, and construction activities, John actively participates in acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic asset management both directly and through our Investment Committee.
Prior to co-founding ECP, John exercised broad executive authority over core activities in acquisitions, development, leasing, and property operations, first as a partner with William Wilson & Associates and later as chief development officer of Cornerstone Properties. He is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School. John currently serves as a board member for Bohannon Development Company.
As a principal and co-founder of ECP, Eric provides essential guidance and leadership across all aspects of our business. In addition to supervising our financial, capital markets, and administrative functions, Eric manages our investment funds and joint ventures. He also participates in acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic asset management both directly and through our Investment Committee.
Prior to co-founding ECP, Eric carried out a wide range of executive responsibilities at Shorenstein Company. As vice chairman and managing director of investments, he played a lead role in the company’s acquisitions activities while directing its investment management and asset management functions. Early in his career, Eric spent three years at the law firm of Shearman & Sterling in New York. He is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School. Eric is currently a board member of the San Francisco Bay Area YMCA and Grace Cathedral.
Sam uses his deep transactional background and extensive network of relationships to lead our acquisition and disposition activities, and supervise our capital markets group. In addition to managing our deal sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, and execution activities, Sam chairs our Investment Committee.
Sam has over 30 years of equity investment, loan origination, and portfolio management experience in commercial real estate. He has sourced and closed more than 300 transactions totaling over $4 billion in property acquisitions and structured debt during his career. Prior to joining ECP in 2003, Sam was director of acquisitions for ATC Partners, a San Francisco-based commercial real estate investor. He also provided term, bridge, and mezzanine financing to the commercial real estate market as vice president of Finova Realty Mezzanine and regional director of Finova Realty Capital. Sam is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley.
Andrew is responsible for marketing and leasing our East Bay and Sacramento assets. Directly involved in each phase of the leasing process, Andrew attends tours, maintains strong broker and tenant relations, performs financial analysis, negotiates lease terms, and evaluates tenant improvements. He also plays a critical role in the lease underwriting process for acquisitions and dispositions.
Andrew has over 35 years of commercial leasing experience. Prior to joining ECP in 2007, Andrew was a managing director of leasing for Equity Office Properties where he was responsible for the leasing of a four million square foot portfolio of office properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. Andrew attended California State University, East Bay and is a California licensed Real Estate Broker.
Carol is responsible for marketing and leasing our San Francisco, San Francisco Peninsula, and Silicon Valley assets. Actively involved in the end-to-end leasing process, Carol attends tours, maintains strong broker and tenant relations, performs financial analysis, negotiates lease terms, and evaluates tenant improvements. She also provides valuable leasing market insight that informs our acquisition and disposition activities.
Carol has 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining ECP in 2008, Carol served as a managing director of leasing for Equity Office Properties where she was responsible for leasing a four million square foot portfolio of Class A office space in the San Francisco Bay Area. Carol is a graduate of San Francisco State University. She currently serves as a board member for San Mateo County Economic Development Association.
Blake is responsible for overseeing the company’s development activities and capital improvement projects including entitlements, design, and construction.
Blake has over 20 years of experience managing commercial, industrial, and residential construction and development projects in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Prior to joining ECP in 2007, Blake served as the development manager at Shea Homes where he developed new residential and mixed-use communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Blake also worked as a planning director at Kinetics, a Silicon Valley-based contractor specializing in high technology industrial products, and as a construction manager at Turner Construction where he supervised projects in San Francisco and Kuwait. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. Blake is currently a board member of American Bach Soloists.
Steve oversees our property, fund, and joint venture accounting, tax, audit, and financial reporting functions, and administers the firm’s loans. He is also a member of our Investment Committee.
Steve has over 25 years of experience in the finance and real estate industries. Prior to joining ECP in 2008, Steve was a senior finance manager at Apple where he was responsible for all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and analysis for 175 Apple retail stores across five countries with $4 billion in annual revenue. Steve is a graduate of San Francisco State University.
Jason is responsible for executing the firm’s acquisition and disposition strategy, including sourcing, evaluating, underwriting, negotiating, and closing capital transactions. He also manages loan originations and assists with investor reporting. Jason is a member of our Investment Committee.
Prior to joining ECP in 2013, Jason worked as an analyst for Terreno Realty Corporation where he focused on acquisitions and asset management, mainly in Seattle and Miami. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Jason is currently a member of ULI, Belden Club, and The Olympic Club. He also volunteers for George Mark Children’s House, a nonprofit organization specializing in pediatric palliative care.
Beth is responsible for marketing and leasing our Southern California portfolio. Closely involved in all stages of the leasing process, Beth attends tours, maintains strong broker and tenant relations, performs financial and credit analysis, negotiates lease terms, and evaluates tenant improvements.
Beth has over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining ECP in 2015, Beth was the vice president of leasing for Bantry Holdings where she was responsible for two million square feet of Class A office, retail, and medical space throughout Southern California. Prior to that, she was a senior leasing manager at Brookfield Properties where she directed the leasing and marketing of a 1.8 million square foot office portfolio. Beth is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, and is a member of Palos Verdes Junior Women’s Club, a non-profit public benefit organization dedicated to supporting women and children in crisis throughout the South Bay area.
Jill oversees the day-to-day operations of our entire portfolio and serves as the interface between property management, asset management, and ownership. In addition to supervising our property managers and establishing best practices in tenant relations, lease administration, budgeting, capital projects, and risk management, Jill directs non-TI building improvements and capital repairs and replacements. She also ensures the successful transition of property acquisitions and dispositions.
Jill has over 30 years of experience in real estate, including more than 25 years in property operations and asset management. Prior to joining ECP in 2008, Jill was vice president of property management for William Wilson & Associates where she oversaw a five million square foot portfolio of Class A office properties. Jill attended Cornell University. She is a member of BOMA San Francisco and currently serves on the board for Arbor Bay School, a registered non-public school for children with learning differences.
Jeff is responsible for marketing and leasing our portfolio of properties located in the Pacific Northwest. Directly involved in all aspects of the leasing process, Jeff attends tours, maintains strong broker and tenant relations, performs financial analysis for lease transactions, negotiates deal terms, and evaluates tenant improvements. He also handles portfolio management functions, coordinating cross-functional teams in leasing, construction, architecture, property management, and engineering.
Jeff has over ten years of industry experience. Prior to joining ECP in 2012, Jeff spent five years as an investment manager at HAL Real Estate Investments where he played a key role in asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, entitlements, and strategic investment planning. He also worked as an investment analyst at Pension Consulting Alliance where he managed $2 billion in real estate assets for a variety of public and private pension funds. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business. He is a member of NAIOP and ULI, and serves as a volunteer for the Seattle Humane Society.
Kendra is responsible for asset management of the firm’s San Francisco and other Bay Area properties, including developing and executing capital improvement and re-positioning business plans.
Kendra has over 25 years of commercial office real estate industry experience. Prior to joining ECP in 2016, Kendra worked as an asset manager at PB&J Acquisitions where she was responsible for strategic planning, asset management, leasing, and project management for a diverse 1.5 million square foot portfolio of commercial office, industrial, and retail properties in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. She also served as a property manager at Transwestern and an asset manager at Coast Range Investments where she was responsible for financial results and improving property operations for a 2.3 million square foot portfolio of Class A office properties in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Kendra is a graduate of University of Southern California and holds a California Real Estate Salesperson’s license.
